Enjoy a spectacular trip between crater and tides in Charlevoix

Charlevoix owes its unique terrain to the impact of a meteorite that hit the area more than 400 million years ago. Since then, the Crater and Tides sector has continued to forge its character, offering the extraordinary vistas we know today. You can see the remains of this collision – a 54 km crater and its central peak – at Mont des Éboulements. And if you feel the pull of the tides, head to Saint-Irénée to marvel at the long banks, or to Saint-Joseph-de-la-Rive, where you’ll find a charming maritime museum and a great view of Isle-aux-Coudres.
